Fara Williams announced as tournament ambassador

Arnold Clark Cup is thrilled to welcome football legend, Fara Williams, as a tournament ambassador!

With over 170 appearances for the England National Side, Fara is the most capped player in the history of English football. She is considered one of the greatest female footballers of all time and represented her country at every European Championship from 2005- 2017 and every World Cup from 2007-2015. Fara was selected to represent Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics.

Fara made more than 200 Club appearances, scoring over 100 goals for sides including Everton, Liverpool and Arsenal. Most recently she played for Reading Women FC in the Women’s Super League, before announcing her retirement from professional football in Summer 2021. Her career honours include the Women’s Super League Title as well as two Women’s Premier League Cups and two FA Women’s Cup Titles.

Fara said “I’m thrilled to be an official Ambassador of the Arnold Clark Cup. It’s a tournament I’m looking forward to participating in as a fan now I’ve retired."
